The problems slowing contractors down
Is your technology helping you finish jobs and get paid — or getting in the way?
Construction runs on bids, crews and cash flow, but the technology behind it is usually an afterthought. Spoofed invoices target your accounts payable, project files live on personal phones, the jobsite connection drops, and the owner or office manager has quietly become the help desk.
- Invoice & payment fraud
- Jobsite & field connectivity
- Project data scattered everywhere
- No dedicated IT
- Security questionnaires from primes & insurers
- New crews & seasonal hiring
- Lost or stolen devices
- Slow, spotty IT support
The problem isn’t your crews. It’s technology that wasn’t set up for how construction actually works.
Technology should help you win bids and finish jobs — not slow you down.
You deserve a partner who understands the business — not just another vendor.

A real IT partner
Strategic planning and a dedicated team so the owner or office manager can stop being the help desk.
- Support without a full-time hire
Compliance, handled
The requirements that follow you onto the job
Contractors increasingly face security requirements from primes, insurers and owners. If you work on federal or defense projects, requirements such as NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC can flow down to you. We help you document controls, close gaps and answer questionnaires with confidence, and we align your protection with what cyber insurers now ask for.
- CMMC and NIST SP 800-171 (for federal and defense subcontractors)
- Cyber insurance requirements
- PCI DSS
- State breach notification laws
General information, not legal advice. Confirm contract requirements with your prime or contracting officer.

Frequently asked questions
What does managed IT look like for a construction company?
Managed IT means Simpatico takes over the day-to-day work of keeping your technology healthy: 24/7 monitoring, patching, an unlimited remote help desk, device management, backup and disaster recovery, email protection and security. For a contractor or trade business, that means working laptops and phones for office and field staff, protected accounts payable, organized project files, and a partner to call instead of the owner or office manager.
How do you help stop invoice and payment fraud?
Contractors are targeted with spoofed vendor emails, fake invoices and change-of-bank requests. We reduce the openings with email protection that blocks phishing and impersonation attempts, multifactor authentication, security awareness training for the staff who handle payments, and monitoring for suspicious activity. No tool catches everything, so we also help you build simple verification habits before money moves.
Can you support crews and jobsites, not just the office?
Yes. We manage the laptops, tablets and phones your crews use, provide an unlimited remote help desk so field issues get fixed quickly, and help you standardize setup so new devices and new hires are ready on day one. Because support is remote, a problem on a jobsite doesn’t have to wait for someone to drive out. We can also talk through connectivity needs for specific sites.
How do you keep project files organized and secure?
We help you put bids, drawings, contracts and change orders into cloud storage and sharing built around how your jobs run, with the right permissions so people see only what they need. Backup and disaster recovery sit behind it, so a lost laptop or a ransomware attempt doesn’t mean lost project records. We work with the tools you already use wherever they are working for you.
Do we need CMMC or NIST SP 800-171 as a subcontractor?
Only if you handle federal or defense contract information and your prime or contract requires it. Those requirements can flow down from a prime to its subcontractors. We can review your contracts’ cybersecurity language with you, assess where you stand against NIST SP 800-171 and, if needed, prepare you through our CMMC-Ninety program. Confirm specific requirements with your prime or contracting officer.
Can you work with our current IT person and software?
Yes. Many contractors have an office manager or part-time IT resource who stays in control of day-to-day priorities while Simpatico handles monitoring, security, projects and backup. We map the tools you already use and only recommend replacing what is genuinely holding the company back. If you would rather hand everything off, we can take on full day-to-day IT support.
How much does managed IT cost for a contractor?
Cost depends on the number of users and devices, the number of locations, and which security and compliance services you need. Rather than quote a generic number, we start with a complimentary strategy session to understand your company, then provide a clear scope and investment so you know what you are getting before you commit to anything.
What happens in a strategy session?
It is a straightforward conversation about where your company’s technology is today and where the gaps and risks are. We look at fraud exposure, security, backups, devices and what primes or insurers are asking of you, help you identify your highest-value starting point, and outline what it would take to get there. It is complimentary, with no obligation and no hard sell.
